About Rutland Parent Carer Voice
Rutland Parent Carer Voice was originally set up to allow parents and carers to discuss issues that arose around the needs of our children and families with representatives from Rutland County Council.
Rutland Parent Carer Voice is now a strategic partner not only working with Rutland County Council but with health and other organisations and have actively participated in discussions, consultations and the decision making process where it involved families, children and young people that has disabilities and additional needs.
As Rutland Parent Carer Voice representatives we have felt greatly valued especially when many of our ideas and suggestions have been implemented. Such as the outdoor gym which was opened in July 2013 at Whitwell. Details of which can be found on this link https://www.rutlandsenfamilies.co.uk/rutland-parent-carer-voice-news/320-outdoor-gym. Another output of discussions held was the introduction of a system on the GP’s computers of a ‘Pop-up’ box which flags up any disability or issues of a child or young person once the receptionist types the name of that individual into the system. More about this can be found on this link Rutland Parents and Carers Dialogue with GP’s Practice Managers
